Dubai-Inspired Pistachio Protein Brownies (Low-Carb, High-Protein Treat)

Jul 2, 2025

You’ve seen them all over TikTok, luxe, pistachio-filled Dubai brownies oozing green cream and rich melted chocolate. Inspired by traditional Middle Eastern flavours (like kanafeh), this viral dessert has taken over timelines and sweet tooths globally.

But we’ve flipped the script: meet your new favourite high-protein, low-carb version.

This Dubai-inspired pistachio protein brownie uses our soft-baked, fibre-rich Justine’s Keto Protein Brownies as the base: with a creamy, crunchy pistachio layer and a rich chocolate topping. It’s indulgent, satisfying, and packed with protein. Bonus: no baking required.

Servings: 10
Prep Time: 10 mins
Chill Time: 30 mins
Total Time: 40 mins

INGREDIENTS

  • 4 x Justine’s Keto Protein Brownies

  • ⅓–½ cup pistachio cream (store-bought or homemade for lower carbs)

  • 1 cup soy protein crisps

  • 100g dark chocolate, melted

  • (Optional) 1 scoop vanilla or chocolate protein powder (mix into the melted chocolate)

METHOD

  1. Prep the base by heating the 4 protein brownies in the mircowave until soft, then pressing into your tin to form a smooth base.
  2. Mix the pistachio cream and soy protein crisps together in a bowl until combined.

  3. Top the brownie base with the pistachio filling. Spread evenly to the edges.

  4. Pour over melted dark chocolate (with protein powder if using) and spread to cover.

  5. Refrigerate for 30+ minutes until set. Cut into 10 slices, and dig in! Store in an airtight container in the fridge.

Why This Version Works

  • Lower carb: Using Justine’s brownies removes the need for sugary flour-based cake layers.

  • Higher protein: Each brownie already packs 15g of protein, plus extra from the soy crisps and optional powder.

  • Gluten-free and keto-friendly: Perfect for those watching carbs or avoiding gluten.

FAQ

Is pistachio cream keto?

Most store-bought versions contain sugar, but you can make your own using roasted pistachios, oil, and a keto sweetener like erythritol.

What are soy protein crisps?

They’re light, crunchy puffs made from soy protein isolate, low carb and high in protein, often used in bars or protein cereals.

Can I use Justine’s cookies instead of brownies?

Yes! Our Protein Cookies work great in this recipe too, simply layer or crumble as a base.
