There are 3 things to consider when doing hiking trials, and we have mastered this to help you on your next adventure:

Lightweight is essential:

When you hike you hike you need to consider the weight you will be carrying with you throughout the hike, Tongariro has many steep hills as I have mentioned and your backpack will get heavier with each step you head up. You would need a lightweight option that will fuel your body for longer. Justine’s Protein cookies are 64g per cookie with between 15g-18.9g Protein that will definitely power you up the next hill.

Eat Nutritious Food to sustain you

Often on a hiking trip, it is easy to grab processed food and unhealthy snacks that will spike your sugar and steal your energy just because it is convenient. This is not the smartest thing to do as your body will need more nutrition than it usually does. Justine’s Protein Cookies is a healthy balanced snack with high calcium, fibre, healthy fats and protein to give your body the balance that you would need.

Convenience is key

When you are on a hiking trip the purpose of the trip is to keep moving and enjoy the scenery and nature around you, you do not want to struggle with unpractical food that will just keep you from enjoying the hike.  Just add water snacks or easy ready-made meals are usually the best options for your trip. Justine’s Protein cookies are in small sealed packages that keep them fresh and just at hands reach if your hunger calls for them.
