Threw the bag out

My partner and I bought a bag from Costco. The mouthfeel and texture is really good. Not dry at all. But then the aftertaste on the peanut butter gave us a very strong vomit undertone. I gave a cookie to my friend to try without telling him, he spat it out. Gave a piece to my daughter, hoping she would like them. She cringed and ran to the bin to spit it out.
I'm not sure if we just got a bad batch, because the reviews on reddit say the Justines brand is fantastic, but we are extremely soured from buying again.
