We care deeply about customer satisfaction at Justine’s Cookies and we take measures everyday to ensure our products are made to the highest standard possible. Our current recipe is loved by people all around the world for its high protein, low carbs, no gluten, but importantly, there is also no added sugar. Our cookies tastes great but have a fraction of the sugar of conventional protein bars and cookies.
We are constantly looking at how we can improve our products and because we don’t add sugar we are always on the lookout for healthy sugar alternatives. Justine has been researching Erythritol and and has updated our cookie formulation to include this instead of Maltitol, which we previously used. Throughout August we will be moving to this new formulation across our complete cookie range.
Erythritol is a sugar alcohol and it has real benefits as a natural sugar alternative. It has 70% of the sweetness of sugar but only 6% of calories (weight for weight) Not only is it low calorie it has the added benefit that it doesn’t raise blood sugar or insulin levels. This makes them Keto friendly and suitable for some diabetics.
Erythritol is also tooth friendly as it it cannot be metabolized by oral bacteria, so it doesn’t contribute to tooth decay.
